***An Avalanche of Plastic*** My wife decided to take a university degree. As I work at home, this left me in charge of many of the household duties. My first big job every morning is tidying the kitchen. Washing up and putting everything away. I like to get this job and making the beds done before I start my day's work, because I hate with a passion going into a dirty or untidy kitchen. I’m a proud little houseman. I'm sure like most people, we have a cupboard where we keep all of our Tupperware and plastic storage utensils. More recently, ours has been getting fuller, and FULLER! The reason for this is we enjoy the occasional takeaway, usually Indian, and we have a wonderful Indian restaurant a couple of miles away. The reason the cupboard is getting fuller is 100% their fault! You see, more recently, they switched from providing takeaway meals in tinfoil receptacles with cardboard lids, to all plastic containers. I'm sure you're miles ahead of me. Of course, such containers get washed and stored with the Tupperware because there may be a day when we actually need 200 slightly curry stained containers? Yes, I was being sarcastic. So this morning, as I put away the plates and cutlery I had an item of Tupperware which I had just dried. I opened the high cupboard to put it away to be confronted by a cascade of plastic receptacles raining down on me. Time for a sort out, and twenty minutes later, things looked so much tidier. http://nairne.co.uk/
